RoanTek is founded to build software on shared platforms

BALTIMORE, Md., March 10, 2025 — RoanTek, LLC today announced its founding as a Maryland software company that will build business and consumer software for mobile and web. Rather than building one product for everyone, RoanTek will build software of its own on shared platforms, and shape each platform into focused products for specific audiences.

RoanTek’s founders have built technology since the 1990s. The company starts from a lesson of that experience: much of what a software product needs, such as accounts, security, data and operations, is the same from one product to the next. Building that foundation once, and building it well, frees each product to concentrate on what makes it different.

“We want to build products people choose to use, and to build them in a way that lets us make more than one,” said a RoanTek spokesperson. “A shared platform is how a small team ships focused products without starting over every time.”

RoanTek will begin with research and planning for its first platform, a location-aware foundation for apps that tell the stories of the places around you.
